Join us for a circumnavigation of Isla Espiritu Santo, a desert gem in Baja's Sea of Cortez, now one of Mexico's new national parks. From La Paz, we travel by motorized panga with our kayaks on top, then begin our journey through the azure waters that surround Espiritu Santo, Isla Partida, and Los Islotes. Rugged cliffs, cactus-covered hills, white sand beaches and protected coves--Espiritu Santo is a kayaker's paradise, with many opportunities for close-up encounters with birds and wildlife. Watch pelicans and frigatebirds dive for fish and sea lions glide through the clear sea. Manta rays leap from the sea, seemingly for the sheer joy of it.
Our days are spent paddling, basking in the sun, snorkeling and swimming with sea lions, with an occasional paddling challenge in the wind. If you've never sea kayaked, this is a great place for your first time. We carry all our food and gear in the kayaks and everyone contributes to setting up camp and cooking meals with help from our wonderful local guides. This is a wonderful family vacation, with tandem kayaks available for adults to paddle with children aged 12 and older. Younger children are welcome on our fully-catered kayak trips, which run on slightly different dates, and slightly higher prices. Contact us for more details on our fully-catered trips. There is a 20% discount for children under 14 on any of our Baja kayaking trips.
Enjoy spectacular sunsets, balmy weather, and walking barefoot in the sand. Our trip includes a full week of paddling, with 6 nights of camping under the stars on deserted beaches, and 2 nights in a La Paz hotel, with a farewell dinner at a local restaurant. Camp meals are fresh and varied, utilizing regional fruits, vegetables and seafood. Call or
